More information

Seastreak with their refit project "Wall Street", was one of the winners of Workboat Environmental Awards, at the International Workboat Show in New Orleans, October 2013.

Servogear has been a central participant in this exciting project, with delivery of the Servogear Ecoflow Propulsor™ solution. Seastreak’s innovativeway of thinking has resulted in savings for both their company, and environmental issues in the area they operate.

Seastreak, which operates passenger ferries in the New York region, won the onboard initiative for the conversion of the high-speed catamaran, "Wall Street", from quad engine Waterjet propulsion to a twin engine, twin screw CPP, Servogear Ecoflow Propulsor™. These alterations reduced the fuel consumption by more than 30 percent while maintaining the same high speed and sailing schedule, and it reduced the CO2-Emissions by 50 percent per passenger seat.

…“The savings for this particular vessel in operational cost are significant, and it gives a view of the possibilities of reducing the lifecycle cost for catamarans, by converting from Waterjet to Servogear Ecoflow Propulsor. Shipowners who do conversions like this gets a high return on the investments, and the opportunities to get high operational cost vessels back from the buoys, and in to regular traffic, says Otto Pedersen, Sales & Marketing Manager at Servogear.
